The Abel Symposium

The Board for the Niels Henrik Abel Memorial Fund has established an annual Abel Symposium (biennial since 2023), administrated by the Norwegian Mathematical Society. Each symposium is an exclusive meeting at the highest scientific level within a selected area of the mathematical sciences.

Organising a symposium

To organise an Abel Symposium, send a brief pre-application to Norsk matematisk forening by 15 September, two years before the symposium. The main organiser must be employed at a Norwegian university or research institute.

Proceedings and contact

Each symposium normally results in a volume in the Abel Symposia book series, published by Springer.

Questions about the Abel Symposium can be sent to nmf@matematikkforeningen.no.
